About Surviving Suicide Loss

Postvention resources

The death of a person by suicide can have a significant emotional, mental, and/or financial impact on family members, friends, coworkers, and others. Whether you have lost someone to suicide or want to help another person who has, it is useful to know about resources that exist.

The word “postvention” is sometimes used to describe actions that are taken after a suicide to help those people affected by loss from the suicide.

Please note that SPRC is not a counseling or crisis center and does not provide direct support to survivors of suicide loss (i.e., family members, friends, coworkers, or others who have lost someone to suicide). The links above include information on support groups and other resources.
