Recovery International Weekly Self-Help Meetings
Recovery International
Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, Room 206
Houston, TX
The mission of Abraham Low Self-Help Systems is to use the cognitive-behavioral, peer-to-peer, self-help training system developed by Abraham Low, MD, to help individuals gain skills to lead more peaceful and productive lives.
Goes through 10/26/09 to 12/10/10. The Recovery International system enables participants to see, hear and experience the application of Low's principles for reacquiring self leadership, overcoming the fear of nervous symptoms and strengthening self confidence. With the presentation of "examples" by other members (using the four-step outline), followed by "spotting" techniques, members seek and obtain the help of fellow meeting participants and learn how to practice the Recovery International system more effectively.

AFSP's National Survivors of Suicide Day
American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
Conference Sites Worldwide
virtual, WEB
On National Survivors of Suicide Day, simultaneous survivor conferences take place throughout the country and internationally -- each conference site is organized locally and independently by an individual, organization, agency, or school, but they're all connected in spirit as they watch the AFSP broadcast together.
This unique network of healing conferences helps survivors connect with others who have survived the tragedy of suicide loss, and express and understand the powerful emotions they experience. The broadcast is also available live online at www.afsp.org from 1:00-2:30 pm EST so survivors can participate even if there isn't a conference in their area, or if they find it difficult to attend in person.
