b) estimated hospitalized attempts for the years 1999-2001, using state hospital discharge data, mortality data, and Bureau of census population estimates. In some cases, agency data specific to individual states were used.

c) data on injury costs, medical costs, work loss costs, gender, race/ethnicity, age and method.
