The CS & KT Suicide Prevention/Circle of Trust program is hosting a Suicide Prevention Conference being held at the KwaTaqNuk Resort in Polson Montana Featured Speakers:Thomas Joiner, PhD. - Dr. Joiner’s work is in the psychology, neurobiology and treatment of suicidal behavior. Dr. Joiner will present “Why People Die by Suicide” and “Myths of Suicide.” D.J. “Eagle Bear” Vanas—Motivational Storyteller will present “Success, It’s In Our blood” for Native Communities and Youth. Karl Rosston, LCSW - Suicide Prevention Coordinator for the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services and a suicide survivor. Karl will present information specific to Suicide and Suicide Prevention in Montana. Theda New Breast - Native Wellness Motivational Speaker with more than 25 years of experience in Native Wellness and Healing. Kelly LaFave - Suicide Prevention Coordinator for the Montana VA. Kelly will present information concerning Suicide and Suicide Prevention related to MT Veterans. Forrest Henning, LCSW - Forrest will talk about his work with Veterans at the Missoula VA Clinic.
