ENGLAND: Suicide Prevention Campaign Will Target People Who Live and Work in City of London

London recently ran a month-long suicide prevention campaign targeting the city’s inhabitants and workforce. The campaign aimed to encourage people who are struggling to “release the pressure” and reach out for help. Posters were displayed throughout the city, including the subway and rail stations, warning about the risk of allowing everyday stress to accumulate. Digital ads were also run locally in smartphone apps that encouraged people to visit the campaign website and access crisis services information. "We are working closely with partners the City of London Police, Samaritans, and City businesses to support people facing mental health issues,” said Joyce Nash, chairman of the City of London Corporation’s Health and Wellbeing Board. “We hope this campaign can reach people who are suffering and let them know that help and support are available, confidentially, and for free."
