In an effort to better meet the behavioral health care needs of people with serious mental illnesses, the Mississippi Department of Mental Health created community treatment teams that deliver services 24/7 to individuals in their homes and communities. The goal of this program is to provide services to people who have had difficulty in traditional outpatient settings, to improve outcomes, and to avoid unnecessary hospitalization.
