MONTANA: School Policy and Training Legislation

In April 2015, the governor of Montana signed House Bill 374, which requires the Office of Public Instruction to provide guidance, technical assistance, and training materials to schools on youth suicide awareness and prevention. It also encourages school district employees and Office of Public Instruction staff who work directly with students to complete at least two hours of training in youth suicide awareness and prevention every five years.
