Recent Developments:
- 2008 – A one-day statewide conference entitled "Suicide Prevention: Are You Gambling With Your Life?", was held on April 3 in Indianapolis.
- ISPC is engaged in the following activities:
- Conducting a statewide assessment of youth suicide resources;
- Fostering the growth of additional local/regional suicide prevention councils;
- Expanding their role as a suicide prevention resource in the state through a statewide listserv, a calendar of events, and website;
- Providing technical assistance and support to existing local/regional councils across the state;
- Strengthening the Coalition by working on membership diversification and getting legislative buy-in;
- Conducting suicide prevention panel discussions in Indianapolis churches to raise awareness and educate the community about suicide/suicide prevention.

- 2009 – SB 102 – This bill requires that mental health services must be covered under the Childrens Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
