Legislation/Resolutions:

• 2006 – Chase Edwards Law – Revises the state's school code, encourages schools to provide information to students and parents about depression and suicide, and requires the Michigan Department of Education to make model programs and materials available to school districts and public school academies.
  
  
• 2004 – Governor's Proclamation – October 6 was designated as Suicide Prevention and Awareness Day
  
  
• 2003 – Governor's Proclamation – September 2003 to September 2004 was designated the Year of Mental Health Awareness in Michigan

• 2006 – State grantee of Garrett Lee Smith Memorial Act (SAMHSA) funding: Approximately $400,000
