Recent Developments:
- 2010 – The New Hampshire Suicide Prevention Council released a revised Suicide Prevention Plan. The plan puts forth a number of new goals: routine screening for suicide risk by healthcare providers; advocacy for mental health care reform; and raising public awareness about suicide.
- 2009 – The Suicide Prevention Council continues to bring leaders together to implement and sustain the State Suicide Prevention Plan across the lifespan. Public/private partnerships are taking action to address specific initiatives.
- 2008 – Frameworks Project collaborating with NH National Guard to develop curriculum for suicide prevention/intervention and postvention for soldiers and their families.

Legislation/Resolutions:
- 2008 – Chapter 265 establishes a suicide prevention council to oversee the implementation of the New Hampshire suicide prevention plan.
- 2008 – Chapter 251 requires the State Board of Education to provide information about youth suicide prevention to all public and private schools to promote the delivery of appropriate courses and programs. The bill also establishes a Committee to review the efforts of the New Hampshire Youth Suicide Prevention Advisory Assembly in developing a statewide
comprehensive plan for youth suicide prevention.
Funding Sources:
- 2009 – NAMI NH Connect Garrett Lee Smith Project for youth suicide prevention received $1.5 million in funding over 3 years from the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
