Legislation/Resolutions:

• 2007 – Bill# SB 325 – The bill specifies that reimbursement for professional providers for mental illness coverage shall be comparable to the amount paid for similar medical services. (Committee recommended measure be held for further study on 03/21/07.)
  
  
• 2007 – Bill# HB 5738 – The bill would require that reimbursement paid by a health care insurer for mental illness and substance abuse coverage be comparable to that paid for similar medical services. (House Corporations Committee recommended that the measure be held for further study on 03/06/07.)
  
  
• Title 16 – charging the state department of education with developing a suicide prevention program for students in grades 9-12
  
  

Funding Sources:

• Funding for developing the state injury prevention plan was provided by a three year CDC Capacity Injury Prevention Grant
  
  
• The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention initially funded the development of the Suicide Prevention Framework
  
  
• Rhode Island Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s Safe and Drug Free Schools program funded the development of a suicide prevention program for students in grades 9-12
