SPRC & AFSP Release the Online Registry of Evidence-Based Practices in Suicide Prevention
The Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) and The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
(AFSP) have completed the development of an online registry of evidence-based suicide prevention
programs. Decision-makers can use the registry as a source of objective and reliable information
as they select programs to implement.

Update on Nominations for The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Steering Committee
A preliminary list of selected members has been compiled and, over the next two weeks,
these individuals will be notified to confirm their continuing interest in
participation. When all of these individuals have verified their desire to participate,
the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline will
formally announce their membership and post each individual's name
and relevant background on the Lifeline
Web site.

On Feb. 23, SPRC launched a new category of the SPRC Library, the
Awareness
and Social Marketing Brochure Collection. The collection contains brochures that are designed to
increase awareness about suicide and mental health issues and that present social marketing messages
about suicide prevention and mental health promotion. The materials have been produced by a variety of
organizations across the country and internationally.

Deadline for Nominations for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Network (1-800-273-TALK)
Members of the suicide prevention community are invited to submit nominations for the
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline steering committee, the consumer/recipients subcommittee,
and the certification and training subcommittee by midnight tonight (Feb. 23).

SPRC Launches Final 9 State Suicide Prevention Web Pages: On Feb. 17,
SPRC launched state web pages for
Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Utah, West Virginia
and Wyoming.
The web pages serve as a central collection of information about suicide prevention efforts
for each state and provide a forum for sharing
communication and resources within and across states.
