Lisa Saint George

Lisa St. George
Lisa St. George is a mental health and human services professional with over 40 years of experience. She serves as vice president of peer support and empowerment at RI International, a peer support service provider. She has been involved in the creation and implementation of training programs focusing on support, recovery, patient services, and crisis services and has written a number of publications on the importance of peer support and advocacy.
Previously, St. George served as a board member of the International Association of Peer Supporters, including time as board chair. She has supported the community of Phoenix, Arizona, as vice chair of the Maricopa Human Rights Committee and as a member of the Arizona Behavioral Health Planning Council. Currently, St. George serves as an advisory board member of Open Minds, which provides organizational support for the development of peer-based services and recovery, as well as training and consultation.
Her awards include the San Diego Mental Health Director’s Program of the Year, the Mental Health Association of California’s Health Hero Award, and the Elton George Armstrong Award.
St. George received a bachelor’s and master’s in social work from Arizona State University. She has also held faculty positions at Arizona State University.
