Dr. DeQuincy Lezine is CEO of Prevention Communities, a suicide prevention organization. He is a suicide attempt survivor who has worked in the field of suicide prevention since 1996. Dr. Lezine has served as chair for the Attempt Survivor and Lived Experience Division at the American Association of Suicidology and as co-chair of the Consumer/Survivor Committee for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
Dr. Lezine received his PhD in clinical psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and holds a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Rochester with a focus on public health approaches to suicide prevention. A public speaker and recognized author, Dr. Lezine was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
